In its outspoken nakedness and visually minimal style, Electroma, the third longplayer feature by one of the most prolific electronic bands of this era, is strange yet very intriguing.
Daft Punk’s Electroma tells a small, yet spun-out story that is set in an American desert-like highway landscape where two robots are in search of human existence. Which unfolds in a drama in the desert landscape. The film has already been compared to Gus Van Sant‘s Gerry and pays hommage to films such as George Lucas’ THX 1138 and Tobe Hooper’s Poltergeist. Just try and depict those particular scenes…
No music by the duo Bangalter/De Hornem-Christo this time but featured artists such as Todd Rundgren, Brian Eno, Curtis Mayfield, Sebastien Tellier & Linda Perhacs.

Manufactured Landscapes follows photographer Edward Burtynsky to China and Bangladesh where he captures large-scale images of vast industrial landscapes. Jennifer Baichwal‘s documentary develops into a meditation on human and environmental costs of the profound changes our planet is experiencing.

undeniable transformation into a 21st century powerhouse, the film’s
surface is beautiful, its implications frightening.

Although Brian Eno is more famous for his musical output, he has had a long career as a visual artist working with generative light compositions, in the same way he has worked with generative music on albums such as Music For Airports, Discreet Music and Thursday Afternoon.
77 Million Paintings uses the screen of your computer or television to create a constantly evolving work of art. This painting is generated from hand-made slides that are randomly combined by the computer using specially designed software. This software processes the music that accompanies the paintings in a similar manner so that the selection of slides and their duration in the process are randomly chosen, creating an infinite number of variations (hence the title). The process becomes unpredictable, so that every viewer has a unique experience of the painting.
